Waiters don't speak English at all. 7 min explaining something like salmon. Including pictures. Food is delicious, but portions are very small!!!!!! Expensive

A gem in the heart of Miraflores. I had an incredible experience, not only for the exceptional quality of the food, but also for the excellent service. We were delighted to be served by David, who greeted us with great kindness. He took the time to explain each dish, recommend the best ones based on our tastes, and make sure everything was perfect.nnThe food was simply spectacular. The sushi was fresh, perfectly balanced in flavor and presentation. We tried the acevichado (THE REAL ACevichado), katsu, a house tiradito, flame-baked nigiri, gunkan with spectacular tartar, etc. Every bite was better than the last. The care taken in each preparation and the quality of the ingredients are evident.nnThe atmosphere of the restaurant is calm, elegant, and very well-maintained, ideal for relaxing and enjoying a good dinner. It truly feels like a Japanese corner in Lima.nnWe will definitely return. David's attentiveness and charisma, the flavor of the dishes, and the overall atmosphere make Makoto a place you'll not just visit, but remember. ✨

I came back again! This time the table had a slightly unpleasant smell! Like a poorly washed rag! We ordered juices, but the blender wasn't working, and the food was a 3/5. I'll leave the second-to-last review! Apparently, they haven't improved. It's a shame! But the jockey, I haven't had these bad experiences. The service was good; they tried to solve everything in the friendliest way, and the atmosphere was also good. If it weren't for the smell, I'd give them 5 stars.nnI've been there several times before COVID, but today I went back after a long time; it wasn't the same! It used to be delicious, it's still good, but I think it was better before. The service isn't the same anymore, I think it's because there are fewer staff. It's still good, but I hope they go back to what they were before! I came back last Sunday for lunch. We tried to move our reservation 30 minutes later, but they wouldn't let us. We thought it was because of demand, but it was empty! The food keeps going downhill, the makis kept falling apart, and the sashimi cuts were bad. Come on, Makoto, I think if this happens to me again, we'll never go there again!

We went for my mom's birthday. The service was superb. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was also peaceful. Everything was excellent. Only two problems. The first was that the table we sat at had a strange smell, as if the cloth they used to wipe the table had been dirty. The prices for the makis were also quite exaggerated, in my opinion. That's why I ordered a beef yasaitame, which was definitely worth the price. Overall, it was a very good experience, as they also gave us a complimentary dessert. What stood out the most was the waiter's attentiveness.
