Overall Quite disappointed.nnI made a reservation but no one updated changed restaurant location to me, wasted 30mins on the street, Humid, Hoooooot and sticky weather. We were soaked by sweat.nnBut receptionist pointed out that we were late 30mins. He was ridiculously rude.nnWaitress name Jenny, her service was good but I’m sorry to say this, all food was really disappointed, mashed potatoes wrapped with seaweed, ramen with too strong pork smell and too sweet main dish. Only dessert was not bad.nnThis wasn’t Japanese food.

Unable to leave a review as we couldn’t find the restaurant and missed our booking.nWe spent 30 minutes walking around the Coba resort to try and find it but most paths leading to it were closed off.nWe asked staff for directions and were sent the wrong way.nWe are staying in the Grand Tulum and had this booked as one of our a la carte nights. Such a shame as the food looks great.

One of our favorite meals during the whole trip. The food at the resort was great overall, but Nikkei Mashua really stood out. The Japanese-Peruvian fusion was creative without trying too hard—everything we ordered was packed with flavor, especially the pork belly and ramen. The vibe was calm and the service was on point. Definitely worth making a reservation.
